LA HALLERIE, SOUTH NORMANDY, FRANCE

PLACES OF INTEREST AND THINGS TO DO

La Hallerie is located in Southern Normandy, approximately 3 hours drive west of Paris and 2 hours south from the Channel ferry port of Caen.

The local area is typically quiet and rural with extensive wooded areas giving way to traditional farm and village communities. These village communities offer the best first hand glimpse of French country life. The Forest of Mayenne borders onto the property with much to recommend it as an area of great natural beauty. In the immediate area there are opportunities for walking, fishing, horse riding and watersports.

As an alternative to physical activity the nearby local town of Fougere has significant cultural heritage and offers medieval fortifications, museums and the arts.

For those prepared to venture further afield there is much that can be accessed within an hour or two’s drive from La Hallerie. Our location is convenient for the motor racing mecca of Le Mans whilst the Channel and Atlantic coasts are not too distant. This puts historical attractions such as Mont St Michel, the tapestry at Bayeux and the north coast WWII museums within reach of all but the least determined day tripper.

Guests have even ‘done’ EuroDisney from our base.

If you know what you want to do then we will be happy to put you on the right track. If you are more open minded then our staff will be pleased to help with suggestions and advice.

And, if all the above just seems like too much effort then the extensive grounds of La Hallerie will provide ample space for games, picnics and BBQ’s or simply sitting in the shade of a tree with a good book and perhaps a glass of wine.
